Get Involved
Head Start of York County receives funding through a federal grant which requires that we provide an additional non-federal share of 20% above the grant. We rely on our parents and communities to help us reach our goal of $800,000. Parents volunteer many hours in classrooms, offices and at meetings to support our program. The value of their time contributes greatly to the non-federal share dollars. Head Start of York County has over eighty written partnership agreements with local school districts, social agencies, businesses, and civic organization that donate time, space, services and materials to Head Start of York County. These donations are very important to helping our program provide quality services to children and families and to meeting our financial obligation in non-federal share dollars. Head Start of York County invites individual volunteers, businesses, agencies, and civic organizations to consider focusing attention on Head Start. Improving the lives of young children and their families yields remarkable rewards to both the giver and the receiver. Our Wish List contains just some of the ways to get involved with Head Start.
