 What is Family & Community Partnerships?

 

Family & Community Partnerships provides social services to empower families to achieve self-sufficiency through personal and professional growth.

 

What is a Family Advocate and how do they help my family?

 

Your Family Advocate will be your first point of contact with Head Start and your main source of contact throughout the time your child is enrolled in Head Start of York County. Your Family Advocate will be able to assist you in the following ways:

Housing Referrals

bullet

Food Resources

bullet

Obtaining Employment/ Job Search

bullet

Education For Your Child

bullet

Health Support For Your Child (Including Vision/ Hearing and Dental Screenings and Physicals)

bullet

Help During Crisis (Includes Support During Divorce, Legal Matters, Bankruptcy, etc.)

bullet

Health and Anger Management Trainings

Is there anything else I need to know?

Parents benefit from Head Start, too.

Every family has the opportunity to work with their Family Advocate on issues of importance to them.

bullet

Parents are encouraged to set goals to improve their lives. Family Advocates support and guide parents as they progress towards their goals and celebrate their successes.

Parents have access to new opportunities through referrals to community organizations. Family Advocates assist parents in connecting with needed services.
